How to Create a US Apple ID from Nepal and Add Credit

Ottsewa Team · 5 Nov 2026 · 2 min read

Some apps and games are only on the US App Store. Here is how to make a US Apple ID from Nepal, step by step, and how to put credit on it without a card.

Plenty of apps, games and in-app offers appear only on the US App Store. To get them you need an Apple ID set to the United States, and something to pay with. Both are easier than they sound.

Before you start

  • Use an email address that is not already an Apple ID.
  • If you are on your main iPhone, you only sign out of the App Store, not iCloud, so your photos and contacts are untouched.

Creating the US Apple ID

  1. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Media and Purchases, and sign out (this signs you out of the App Store only).
  2. Open the App Store and try to download any free app.
  3. When asked to sign in, choose Create New Apple ID.
  4. Set the country or region to United States and accept the terms.
  5. For payment, choose None if it is offered. If it is not offered, you can add credit with a gift card instead.
  6. Enter a US address as Apple asks, verify your email and phone, and finish.

You can switch between your Nepal and US Apple IDs in the App Store whenever you need to.

Adding credit without a card

A US Apple Gift Card, still often called an iTunes card, adds dollars to your US Apple ID. You can buy a $2 US Apple Gift Card for Rs 499 with eSewa or Khalti, and the code arrives by email.

To redeem it:

  1. Open the App Store, signed in with your US Apple ID.
  2. Tap your photo, then Redeem Gift Card or Code.
  3. Enter the code. The balance shows on your account straight away.

What $2 gets you

ItemTypical price
Many paid apps and games$0.99 to $1.99
Small in-app purchases$0.99 and up
iCloud+ 50 GB in the US$0.99 a month

Common problems

"This card can only be redeemed in the US Store"

You are signed in with a Nepal Apple ID. Switch to the US one and try again.

"Your Apple ID has not yet been used with the App Store"

Finish the review screen it shows, add the US address, and then redeem.

Can I use a dollar card instead?

Yes, if it is accepted by Apple. A prepaid virtual card such as Rewarble sometimes works for one-off payments, but gift cards are the most reliable way to fund a US Apple ID from Nepal.
