Virtual Dollar Cards in Nepal: How to Pay Online Without a Bank Card

Domains, apps, game stores and free trials that ask for a card. What a prepaid virtual card is, what it can and cannot do, and how to get one with eSewa.
Sooner or later every freelancer, student and small business in Nepal meets a website that only takes a dollar card. A domain renewal. An app. A game store. A free trial that wants a card "just to verify". If you do not have a dollar card, a prepaid virtual card is often the quickest way through.
What a virtual card is
A virtual card is a card number, expiry date and security code that exists only online. A prepaid one is loaded with a fixed amount, and you can never spend more than that. It is not linked to your bank account.
Rewarble sells vouchers that you redeem for such a card. You buy the voucher in rupees here, redeem it on Rewarble's site, and get a card you can use at checkout like any other.
What it is good for
- Card verification for apps and free trials.
- One-off purchases in dollars: an app, a game item, a domain, a small tool.
- Paying a site you do not fully trust without exposing your real bank card.
What it is not good for
- Subscriptions that renew every month. Prepaid cards usually cannot be charged again automatically.
- Some websites. A few refuse prepaid cards entirely. Check the site first.
- Large amounts. These are small cards by design.
Prices here
| Card | Price in Nepal |
|---|---|
| Rewarble $5 | Rs 1,199 |
| Rewarble $10 | Rs 2,299 |
Rewarble may add a small fee when you turn the voucher into a card, and it shows that fee before you confirm.
How to use it
- Buy the voucher with eSewa, Khalti or a bank transfer. The code comes by email.
- Sign in at rewarble.com and choose Redeem.
- Pick the virtual card option, check the fee, and confirm.
- Use the card number, expiry and code at checkout, with your own name and address.
For Apple, use a gift card instead
If what you want is credit on a US Apple ID, a US Apple Gift Card works more reliably than a prepaid card.
A word on the rules
Nepal Rastra Bank sets the rules on spending foreign currency. Keep your purchases small and personal, and if you need regular dollar payments for a business, ask your bank about a proper dollar card.
